PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE – changed due to conflicting with Tutor Day with Chief Training Officer.
Please don’t take the picture as a literal advertisement of where we are actually going.
“We need to recognise that the weather in April could be anything and therefore be prepared accordingly. We can decide where to go via peer vote on the day.
The meeting point will be common. The PARK AND RIDE/TRAM STOP car park at Toton, NG9 7JA. You can fill up at Tesco’s in Toton (NG9 5GN) in advance if needed.
Timings for the day are 9:30-4:30/5pm – so arrive early / on time.
Depending on the prevailing conditions we will either be:
Going East to the coast for Fish and Chips
A picturesque tour of north Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Wolds before descending upon a sea side fish and chip restaurant for lunch. The destination will be Mablethorpe, returning via routes various, south of Lincoln. We will cover about 225 miles and will return at about 4:30 to Donington airport services.
Going West to the Welsh Marches
A picturesque tour of the west midlands, Shropshire, Ludlow, Offas Dyke, assorted amusingly named villages, Shrewsbury, daringly near to Stoke, and then back-roads home to Derby finishing point at near Markeaton Park (probably). Fish and Chips may be sought (to keep a theme going). We will cover 225 miles (wow, the same mileage)[do people think I just make this stuff up?] but returning slightly later at about 5pm I would estimate.
